Digivol

Digivol is a tool that can be helpful with tasks that require a lot of transcription. You can upload a manuscript to Digivol and allow digital volunteers to transcribe the task for you. This is useful when a manuscript does not contain secret and sacred material and should be avoided if communities do not wish for this material to be seen by others.

IPA Character Picker

IPA Character Picker is a great tool that can be used to find various symbols and letters that may be required in transcription work. You can either select the symbol you are after, or you can add diacritics and other unique characteristics to letters to create the symbol you require. Then you simply copy and paste to wherever you need.

TEIGarage

TEIGarage is useful when needing to convert existing transcriptions into a TEI document to allow ingestion into Nyignarn. You can also use this tool to export transcriptions created in Nyingarn to a downloadable PDF document.

PineTools Bulk Image Split

PineTools Bulk Image Splitter is used to split manuscript image files that may have two pages (like a scanned open book) into single pages. This helps keep the transcriptions and pages aligned in Nyingarn. If the image is not split and you would like to OCR (Optical Character Recognition) an item you are uploading, Nyingarn will read the image file of both pages as if they are one page, thus causing the transcription to be inaccurate. See also the page imagy.app here for single page splitting.
